Hypocrisy Cubed

Reconcile this quote with the politics of the person it came from, if you can...
"I believe that visitation rights, health care benefits and other human relationship contracts that are taken for granted by all married people should be available to partners," he said.
Source of the quote, political consultant Arthur J. Finkelstein, upon the occasion of his marriage in Massachusetts to his longtime partner. Hey, I'm all for gay marriage and all for what Mr. Finkelstein says...

However -- Mr. Finkelstein has also spent the better part of his career as a consultant to very conservative candidates. Helping to get them elected. Helping to put in power the same people who would deny all those human relationship contracts to gays and lesbians.

So, I guess all those benefits are all well and good when it's your boyfriend, Mr. Finkelstein, but your words ring very hollow when your actions have been pushing in the opposite direction for over two decades. Ultimately, people must be judged by what they do, not what they say -- and while, in the past, you've been merely pushing the conservative agenda, by your words today you officially become a big, fat, stinkin' heap o' hypocrite. And to that I say, "Go fuck yourself, until you start undoing the damage you've done."
