No Shame 

Past tense now, but the fact that they did it is appalling...
VATICAN CITY (AP) - Cardinal Bernard Law, who resigned in disgrace as archbishop of Boston over his role in the clergy sex abuse crisis, has been given a role of honor in the mourning for Pope John Paul II.
Yeah, I guess that's how it works. Do nothing about priests who sexually abuse children to the extent that you have to give up your post, and you will be rewarded with a plum role in Pope-a-palooza.

Any hint of sympathy now extinguished. This church is an utterly corrupt organization, and the odds are not good that they're going to elect a Pope who'll come in and kick some ass. So it'll be more of the same -- exacerbate the AIDS crisis in Africa by denying condoms, look the other way as child molesters run rampant, promulgate antiquated social policies.
