Pre-Papal Politicking 

Incidentally, it was ultimately Pope Ratzo, in his non-superhero guise of Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, who stuck his German nose into American politics and told Catholics that they couldn't vote for John Kerry because of his pro-choice stance... It didn't come from John Paul II. It came from Bennie X to the 6...

Yes, it's a conservative source that argues in favor of Ratzinger's position (and meddling) on the issue -- but sometimes you get a better idea of the true danger when you march into the Lion's Den to get the info from the horse's mouth.

And yes, I intentionally mixed that metaphor...
