Only Ten Are Worthy

Remember these ten names: Daniel Akaka (D-HI), Tom Harkin (D-IA), Carl Levin (D-MI), Jeff Bingaman (D-NM), Ron Wyden (D-OR), James Jeffords (I-VT), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Patty Murray (D-WA), Russ Feingold (D-WI), Robert Byrd (D-WV). Then there's Daniel Inouye (D-HI), who may or may not go on the heroes list, since he "voted" by not voting.

What did these ten senators do? They voted "NO" on renewing the Patriot Act. They are the only ones worthy of staying in office.

Notice any names missing? Other than every "R"? All of the big-name liberals. I don't see Hilary Clinton or Ted Kennedy or Diane Feinstein or Barbara Boxer on the "No" list. I also don't see Barack Obama or John Kerry. I don't see anyone but those people mentioned above.

And I don't see anyone but Russ Feingold as worthy of being our next president. Not Hilary, not Barack, certainly not John Kerry. Today, our senators showed their true colors, and only ten of them passed the test. Only ten of them care about our freedom. Only ten of them.

To the other eighty-nine of you who voted yes: Fuck You. May you be voted out of office at the next opportunity, and I don't care how fucking liberal you claim to be. You could finance universal health care by shutting down the military, and using the extra to give full four-year Ivy League scholarships to every eighteen year-old in the country (all while cutting taxes), and if you're on that "Yes" list, it wouldn't matter any more.

If you voted "Yes" to renew the "Patriot" Act today, you are a traitor to the Constitution. Diane and Barbara and Hilary and John and Ted and Barack -- and all the others -- I'm done with you. You do not represent me anymore. None of you bastards. You are sellouts. You are cowards. You are less than useless.

Good-bye, you are the weakest links, you're fired. Don't let the doorknobs hit you in the ass. Punk-ass cunts.

Feingold '08.

Comments:
Dude, that's just a fucking awesome post. I couldn't have put it into words any better. Yes, Russ, my Senator, who I'm incredibly proud of, is the only one who should spend the next 8 years in the White House after 2008.

Here's my prediction, it's gonna come down to him and Jeb. Jeb will cheat and win, I will say Fuck You America and get to a country that doesn't have any oil to steal or any ideal military designs on it. Until then, I'm going to fight like hell to save what's left of this sweet country.

The only name that comes to mind these days to run for president is Russ Feingold, he's the only democrat in recent times who has had the guts to say what I've been thinking, and stand behind his words. I hope he's the candidate in 2008. I honestly don't see why they're all pushing Hillary for the job, nobody will vote for her. Russ Feingold for President, I want to see those banners.

Even without the rant (appropriate, stimulating rant) you have hit on something important.

It is true, that from this list, I had hoped to see exactly the names you point out as missing from the "no" vote...boxer, feinstein (republican-lite), obama, kerry...and EXACTLY what rose to the top was what I saw also:

Feingold for President in 2008.

Righto!

WHY EVEN BOTHER WITH THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY?
VOTING LIBERTARIAN IS A VOTE FOR REAL CHANGE.

To Anonymous, who said, " WHY EVEN BOTHER WITH THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY? VOTING LIBERTARIAN IS A VOTE FOR REAL CHANGE."

Agreed, and I've posted previously on this blog exactly why all Americans need to support the so-called "Third" parties. Time to dump the Ds and Rs, and vote for real alternatives.

Although, I think that a Feingold/Kucinich ticket in 2008 would be unbeatable. Hillary? Nah. Much as I'd love to see a Clinton be the first female president... nah. It would be political suicide for the party.

In "Hollywoodland" here the other day, I'm at the central post office, and it's all production house office people sending mail and checking you out to see who's important, who's not, the food chain.
Probaly like alot of Americans, thinking about the car, the girfreind/boyfriend or lack of, and the latte...oh and a new I-Pod to focus out anything too political.Too reality-based other than ME.
Tall older man gets behind me and momentarily I feel him checking me out, then he turns away. Weathered face, a foriegn looking suit, and very dignified but serious almost grim. An older passport clutched in his hand. He seemed very intent,
like it was almost life or death.
I thought in an air-head way, "armenian" going back. Later that night reading the Afghanistan news I recognized the features, and the same type of clothes. It was exactly the same type of suit.
I rememebered the face. Very serious, been through a war already.
I think he's onto something.
I'm getting my pasport up-dated.

" WHY EVEN BOTHER WITH THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY?

I used to consider myself a Libertarian (although the whole idea of political parties is anathama to me), until I saw them refer to the estate tax as the "death tax. That's republican spin if I ever saw it. I wrote to the LP about that one. I said that as long as people make tons of money in this country because of the laws that favor the wealthy, and the tax money that's given to the wealthy, and the tax breaks that are given to the wealthy, the estate tax should not only remain in place, but the exemption should be lower.

Fuck political parties. My loyalty is to my country, and I want it back!

So -- who was he?

it was an Afghan who'd likely expatriated here in search of solace, sanctuary, or respite, now leaving because he sees the writing on the wall.

don't you?

(this writer is not the original poster)

I got the impression from the post about the man in the Post Office that the poster recognized him as a specific individual, possibly an Afghan. That's what I was wondering about.

And the writing on the wall is this: midterm major changes in Congress, or Civil War by 2008.
